Upcoming Events at StorybookArt

A well dressed kid should have a well dressed room! StorybookArt will be at Kenzie Kids in the Mall at Chestnut Hill on November 13th and 14th. Stop by and see the art in person.

From November 29-December 2, 2007, StorybookArt will be presenting a Holiday Trunk Show at The Blue Bunny Book Store in Dedham, MA. The Blue Bunny is run by the Reynolds family and offers favorite children’s books, art supplies and toys. It is co-owned by famed children's book author/illustrator Peter H. Reynolds!


  PAST EVENTS:

We are so excited for Marjorie Priceman! She was recently notified that her new book, "Hot Air: The (Mostly) True Story of the First Hot-air Balloon Ride" was awarded a 2006 Caldecott Honor. The book is both written and illustrated by Marjorie.

This is Marjorie's 2nd Caldecott honor, having received the award in 1995 for "Zin! Zin! A Violin" written by Lloyd Moss.

StorybookArt is working with Children’s Hospital of Boston to mount a temporary exhibit of children’s book illustrations. The show will hang from November until the Spring of 2006. A portion of any sales from this exhibit will be donated back to the Art for Kool Kids program at Children’s Hospital. We are really excited about exhibiting the art in a space where thousands of children will be exposed to these original illustrations.

StorybookArt was mentioned in Real Simple Magazine in September 2005. Our web site was included in an article about online art. We were mentioned as a great resource for junior collectors.

December 4th-5th: StorybookArt will be at the Wellesley Booksmith for a holiday trunk sale. Stop by and see us in Wellesley!

November 14th: StorybookArt will join with Clifford Creator Norman Bridwell for a family event to benefit Reach Out and Read. Join us at the World Trade Center for the annual Read And Romp Event. Visit Reach Out & Read’s web site for more information at: http://www.reachoutandread.org. For this special event, StorybookArt is happy to donate a portion of all proceeds to Reach Out and Read.

November 13th: StorybookArt will be on hand at the Wellesley Public Library with Peter H. Reynolds creator of “Ish” and "The Dot”. Come meet Peter – he will be signing books and giving a talk about his work.

10/20-10/22/04: StorybookArt will be presenting our 4th Annual Show at the Oilily store in Chestnut Hill, MA. We will be there with the whole collection of artwork everything is 10% off! Peter H. Reynolds will be stopping by to get the show started on Wednesday from 4-5ish!

November 21-23, 2003: StorybookArt will participate in The College Club of Boston's Annual Holiday Bourtque. If you are in Boston before Thanksgiving, head on over to 44 Commonwealth Avenue and visit the holiday sale.

10/22-10/24/03: StorybookArt will be presenting our 3rd Annual Show at the Oilily store in Chestnut Hill, MA. We will be there with the whole collection of artwork everything is 10% off!

10/1-10/31/03: Showhouse Media is presenting a designers showhouse at 55 Tara Drive in Norwell, MA for the month of October. We collaborated with Nancy Hill from Orchard Hill Design (www.orchardhilllinens.com) to design the little girl’s room. (See photo.)

If you are on Boston’s south shore, plan to visit the showhouse. You can visit www.showhousemedia.com for tickets or additional information!

Proceeds from the showhouse will be donated to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Fund.

David McPhail will be making a VERY RARE personal appearance at Henry Bear’s Park in Cambridge to celebrate the re-release of his beloved Henry Bear’s Park. Stop by the store in Cambridge on May 10th from 11-12:30 to meet David.

On May 17th, Storybook Art will be at The Meadowbrook School in Weston for the Family Picnic Day and their book Fair. Bring your kids to show them the original artwork.

StorybookArt is traveling to Nantucket, MA this summer for at trunk show at The Eye Of The Needle Girls Store. Stop by during the weekend of July 19th & 20th to say hello and see some new works by your favorite artists.

StorybookArt.com will be in New York City just in time for the holidays. We will be showing our artwork at a Winter Wonderland Party sponsored by Oilily. We will be there from December 3 - December 6. The Children's Oilily store is located at 870 Madison Avenue and the Women's' store is down the street at 820 Madison. Artwork will be available at both locations. Please stop by for some holiday cheer and some great gift ideas.

Live from NPR! September 10, 2001 - Tune into to Boston's National Public Radio Station WBUR 90.9 to hear an interview on the collectability and popularity of children's book art. Susie Allen, Norman Bridwell and Judith Moffatt were recently interviewed for the noon time show "Here & Now." What's Under the Bed? Monsters in Children's Book Illustration at The Decordova Museum in Lincoln, MA from September 15 - January 6, 2002. The exhibit features art from 10 children's book illustrators, including Eric Carle, Peter Sis, Barry Moser and our own Kevin Hawkes. Kevin will give a gallery discussion on September 22 at 3:00. Eric Carle is speaking on December 6 at 6:30. This is a rare opportunity to meet the creator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
